I don't know why it is, but although gamers have a very healthy appetite for nostalgia, we often turn to hostility when someone announces a re-release. Suddenly a much-loved title becomes a soulless cash-in, a brazen attempt to fleece the masses by selling them something they might possibly have played before. Never has this strange attitude been more evident than at this year's E3 – a show full of re-release and remake news.
