Microsoft Investigating Gears of War 3 Leak

Company says leak was not a final copy. Um, duh.  I'd hope it wasn't.

Though Gears of War 3 isn't scheduled to ship until September, an early build of the game's single-player campaign has leaked to the Internet, causing a flood of spoiler-filled videos to surface on YouTube.

No word yet on how this early build was obtained, but Microsoftsaid it's working with various security teams.

"We have seen the reports of Gears of War 3 content being propped on the Web and working closely with our security teams and law enforcement to address the situation," Microsoft said in a statement given to IGN.

"This content is not from a final build and is not representative of what fans will enjoy when the game launches."

Microsoft's major release last September, Halo: Reach, was also leaked to the web a few months early.

Mark Walton arms you with some tips for the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta.

HEY!  I know you took my twinkie bitch!

Bear with me guys and gals...

I know there's nothing new today, don't fret.  I was out until 4:00am dancing my ass off, meeting awesome people.

I am heading to Harkness (Waterford, CT).  I'll be back later to blog about games.  There's a lot of stuff going on here at the house.  People are setting the fifth-wheel up to move across the US.

I'll be back later.

YAY!  Over 9,000 views.  Hey, it's a milestone for me!

Call of Duty convention deploys Sept. 2-3

Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer to get world premiere as 6,000 fans of blockbuster military shooter series expected to descend on Los Angeles for Call of Duty XP 2011.

Activision is aiming to build the Call of Duty community in a big way. The publisher last month announced Call of Duty Elite, a new service for fans of the military first-person shooter series with a wealth of social networking bells and whistles. Today, Activision followed that up with the introduction of Call of Duty XP 2011, a convention it dubbed a "celebration" for the game's community.
Set to take place on a 12-acre compound in Los Angeles September 2-3, Call of Duty XP 2011 will serve as a coming-out party for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer mode. An expected 6,000 attendees will be able to get their hands on the game's cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes, as well as check out the fully functioning Elite service for the first time.
Beyond the reveals, the convention will also play host to a $1 million Call of Duty tournament, with players able to qualify on site or by competing in regional Black Ops contests leading up to XP 2011. There will also be paintball competitions on a life-sized multiplayer map, "AAA live entertainment," and panels with Call of Duty developers. While attendance is going to be capped at a little over 6,000, Activision has promised a "constant stream" of videos, photos, and status updates will be released through TV and online outlets for those unable to make it.
This is not Activision's first experience with large-scale fan festivals. After the publisher merged with Vivendi Games in 2008, it inherited BlizzCon, the annual convention dedicated to the games of World of Warcraft developer Blizzard Entertainment.
Tickets to Call of Duty XP 2011 will go on sale July 19 and sell for $150 each. All of the money from ticket sales will go to benefit the Call of Duty Endowment, a nonprofit group founded by Activision in 2009 to help soldiers transition to civilian life with job placement and training programs. For more, check out the official Call of Duty XP 2011 website.

IGN's Top 100 Modern Games 59-50

So I guess I'm a little behind on this top 100 list.  That's what happens when you slack.  If anyone is getting bored of waiting, you can just click here and it will bring you to all 100 games.  Looks like their list was fast forward or something.

But, for everyone else.  Here's the next 10 in the list.

Game #59
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords
Released: March 16, 2007

Puzzle Quest... The first one and the sci-fi were the ones I enjoyed.  They really stared to make this game into some crazyness.  I did enjoy the "Tetris" like play.  Not really making the pieces fit while they fall, but matching colored gems.  Just watch the clip. :)

Game #58
Wii Sports Resort
Released: July 26, 2009

So what... It's Wii Sports Resort.  Fun for a week.  Sorry Nintendo, you have to wow me with some Wii U stuff.  I've fallen out of love  with you. :(

Game #57
Mirror's Edge
Released: November 12, 2008

Mirror's Edge.  A first person game where it mixes tactical parkour style running and a decent story, in a world that just seemed very surreal.  If you're looking for something different and love games that are super smooth and you can see your feet, check out the DEMO first, but it's worth the $15 used.

Game #56
Dead Rising
Released: August 8, 2006

Zombies - Enough said.  ;)

Game #55
DJ Hero
Released: October 27, 2009

Yellow, yellow, yellooooow, blue, blue, green... no thanks. I guess it's cool to play along, but I'm into the real thing.  I am a dance DJ and playing along to "Simon" just isn't my thing.  I know people love this shit.

Game #54
Pokemon Black & White
Released: March 6, 2011

Gotta catch them all... STDs, um Pokemon.  Pokemon, enough said.  I love it.  Have all the damn games, watch the show and know the song.  I collect the cards and I will kick the shit out of you. :)

Game #53
Professor Layton and the Unwound Future
Released: September 12, 2010

Professor X!  Layton, whomever.  I really couldn't say anything about this game.  Never heard of it until tonight.  lol

Game #52
Shatter
Released: July 23, 2009

Shatter... how my heart feels.  Other then that, I don't know much about this either. :(

Game #51
Company of Heroes
Released: September 12, 2006

A military RTS.  Something I wanted to get into but my computer can bearly use Blogger without it coming to its knees. :(

Game #50
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Released: March 2, 2010

If anyone can notice... I love all that is Battlefield.  I talk about this shit all the time.

My thoughts?  Best game in the universe.  But only rank 50?  *sigh*  I'll be pissed of CoD is higher, and I think it will be.  :(  Anyway, I know this game great, and a ton of others know it as well.  So, go out and buy it and join the elite.

IGN's Top 100 Modern Games 69-60

Here's more goodness of IGN's top 100.

Game #69
Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise
Released: September 2, 2008

I have spent a few hours playing this game.  This is a cute little game where you can raise Pinatas and have them do stuff.   Or wack them and take their candy.

Game #68
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
Released: September 14, 2009

Never played this...  Looks interesting though.

Game #67
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Released: November 21, 2010

Another game I just couldn't get into.  I was never a fan of the Donkey Kong games.   For me, they are fun to watch, not to play.

Game #66
Picross DS
Released: July 30, 2007

If I knew what this was, I'd tell you.  I never heard of this until today.

Game #65
Mega Man 9
Released: September 22, 2008

Mega Man!!!  I love all that is Mega Man.  The games (to me) are still stupidly hard.  They expect you to beat the entire game, not get hit once and only use your main gun to get a 20 point achievement.  F*** that!  :)

Game #64
Burnout Paradise
Released: January 22, 2008

You drive in an open world, you race, you get better cars, blah blah blah.  For what it is, it's fun and worth the $20.

Game #63
Fable II
Released: October 21, 2008

Here's a game where I bought the DLC and dumped in a lot of hours.  I highly enjoyed playing Fable II.  Gave me many nights of enjoyment.  I would recommend picking this up used.  I wish the game was a bit better towards the end.  I had so much money and power it was almost to easy at one point.

Game #62
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Released: August 22, 2005

I have no idea.  I believe it's a RTS on a handheld.

Game #61
Alan Wake
Released: May 18, 2010

Alan Wake, one of my personal favorite games.  I bought this when I was in Canada. Traded "Two Worlds II" for this.  If you enjoy thrillers and a mind fuck, then this game is right up your ally.  I still want to get the DLC since there's more to do.  The writing was pretty good, and I can remember dancing on the tables saying "I'm Alan Wake, I'm dangerous!"

Game #60
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II
Released: February 19, 2009

Another RTS that I never got into.  It's suppose to be really good, but not good enough to break rank 60.

Vegansaurus!!?

I dear you to click on me!
Vegansaurus!

Okay you must be wondering just WTF is this crap he's posting?  Well, if you look at the links, you'll notice this is one of the sites I enjoy.  It's a blog that talks about how awesome healthy foods are.  A few people know, but for all the others, I don't eat meat.  I eat vegetables, fruits, grains, olives, etc.  I am trying to eat a Mediterranean style "diet".

If anyone wants to see some awesome foods, check out Vegansaurus!  Take a chomp out of a veggie and not some critter!  It will thank you in the end.

The Mediterranean Diet is not a diet, as in “go on a diet,” even though it is a great way to lose weight or improve your health. Rather, it is a lifestyle – including foods, activities, meals with friends and family, and wine in moderation with meals.
It has been studied and noted by scores of leading scientists as one of the healthiest in the world. Just as important, the Mediterranean Diet is full of wonderfully delicious, flavor-filled dishes and meals.  It’s easy to understand what it is by thinking about Mediterranean dishes or “plates.

Battlefield 3 - Team Death Match

I quote;

"From the opening park, you need to push underground through a dark, bombed-out metro tunnel section, and then up and out onto the downtown city streets for the final confrontation in front of the Paris stock exchange. This seamless transition in the map between contrasting areas is something that makes it feel like so much more than your typical walled-in multiplayer arena. For a sense of scale, each of the different areas in Operation Métro would be large enough to house a very good Team Deathmatch experience.
Speaking of which. We are bringing Team Deathmatch back to the multiplayer menu! It's been absent since Battlefield 1942, and to quote Lars Gustavsson, “It would almost be a criminal offense not to offer TDM to our fans, especially with the tactical destruction and realistic soldier movement  that Frostbite 2 brings to the game”. Our efforts to let you play Battlefield 3 your way also means that you will have the option to play infantry only matches, for that up close and personal touch."
You can catch the rest of Lars Gustavsson's blog here.

Personally I wish they would keep the Team Death Match OUT of the game and keep it where it belongs, Modern Warfare.  I just can't picture myself playing 16 player matches with everyone just running around, it reminds me to much of 'hardcore' mode and how it's filled with recon that just sit in bushes.

Battlefield has been built on the formula of teamwork, not this "one-man ARMY" crap.  I just hope it doesn't fuck up the game to much.  I'm still buying it, but I know I'm going to not be playing that part of the game.

WHY DICE!!! WHYYYY!!!!!  :'(
